Branching Out recently took part in an exchange, 'Our Village in Europe' along with five other participating Countries - Portugal, Austria, Lithuania, Greece & Romania. The exchange took place in a rural mountain area in the north of Romania and beautiful town of Vatra Dornei.

Its main objectives were-
- Encouraging young people towards a better understanding on the poverty matter that affects the rural space and the way in which Europe is dealing with this problem by making appeal to the concept of European Citizenship, its rights and obligations.
- Developing the intercultural dialogue between 34 European youngsters from 6 different countries through activities based on non-formal education, which highlight traditional customs of their countries.
- Organizing an exhibition with representative photographies taken by participants during the exchange that reflect the Romanian rural life from a foreign perspective, comparing it to their own rural experience.
- Organizing a public session for viewing short-movies made by the participants that reflect the Romanian rural life from a foreign perspective, comparing it to their own rural experience.

Branching Out's exhibition of photographs was launched at The Yeats Memorial Building on Saturday 23rd Nov at 1pm.

I Went to see the exhibition and was amazed by the photos - the depth in them and the interesting angles of shots.
Even tho the photos are taken down by now from the Yeats Memorial Building, you could still have a look HERE
